2009 MINI JCW
It’s a beast! Love it! Won’t miss the PW (Pepper White w/ Black) MINI that had stuff that fell off it from the accident repair (grill popping off), hood release not relasing, fragile paint.Ordered in May - production started in June - was built on July 2, 2008. The car is considered a distinct third MINI model - 2009 MINI JCW (not MINI Cooper S JCW). Some stats:
- 208 hp/206 ft./lb torque
- 0-60 6.2 secs (est. by BMW, generally faster when tested by magazines)
- larger turbo than the JCW stage 1 kit offered by the factory and installed at the dealer
- larger diameter downpipes and exhaust
- larger intake/airbox
- 17″ Challenge wheels from the factory race car
- 4 piston (huge) Brembo brakes
- DTC (dynamic traction control w/ DSC and ASC)
Cloth interior on this one, added Sirius and iPod/Bluetooth inputs to control the phone through the head unit. Butt warmers and power folding mirrors and a double sunroof round it out.
Driving it this weekend the exhaust made me chuckle everytime it burped/popped/cracked/hissed/farted. Handling is ok - it needs to be lowered about 3/4″ and definitely needs a stiffer rear sway bar. When that is done it should be perfect for now.
